Default Radio mount on Commando

I'm trying to decide where to mount a radio on my commando. I'm not wanting to cut a hole to mount it in the dash, like a car. Plus I don't like the idea of the back of the radio under the hood exposed to high water creeks and such. What about next to the passenger seat and console [see pics]. If I mount it here I will mount one speaker on the riser plate under each seat. Any body got any suggestions or better ideas? Any pics of your radios would also be appreciated.
